WRITING

PROJECT I - Why I Write | So I Write

The purpose of this essay was to explore the statement "Why I Write" - our own relationship to writing and being a writer. After several failed attempts to share how I felt as a writer, I was successfully able to create a piece that I felt was honest and accurate to my own life. Feel free to explore my story and how I became a writer.

PROJECT II - Repurpose | Make Your Commencement Count

The purpose of this project was to stretch my writing expertise and strategies in a focused and reflective way. I started from a piece of writing I had already completed (my high school commencement speech) that I was passionate about and repurposed it into something new (a Huffington Post article). Check it out here.

PROJECT III - Remediate | How to Give the Best Commencement Speech

The aim of this project was to try my hand at new media writing, beyond the blogging I've been doing and to consider the ways that medium and form affect argument, audience and purpose. I remediated my Project II (a Huffington Post article) into a video on how to give the best commencement speech. You can watch the video here.

MULTI-MEDIA PROJECT - Ad Evolution

One of the course requirements was a research-based, semester long project that was ultimately featured in the form of a project website. After an eye opening summer working at Doner, I decided to research advertising as my overarching theme. Specifically, I created a website that details the general history of advertising, as well as the evolution of advertisements from specific brands. I purposefully based the format of my project on the AdWeek website. In the end, I called my project Ad Evolution.
