A PROFESSIONAL
Marcus Collins is a curious marketer with an academic insight into the drivers of social behavior. As the SVP of Social Engagement at Doner, a Detroit advertising agency, and the recipient of Advertising Age's 2016 40 Under 40, Collins' expertise in advertising offers a whole new perspective on the industry. In addition to his agency work, Collins is a lecturer of marketing at the Ross School of Business, University of Michigan, where he leads classrooms for MBA's and executive education.
On November 10th, 2017, I had the opportunity to sit down with Collins to hear his perspectives on advertising and social engagement. Though I worked closely with Collins this past summer at Doner, hearing more about his work in the industry over the years was truly refreshing. Though he
considers himself a "marketer," Collins is not traditional by any means. He even admits to hating marketers. His passion for people and his desire to be a part of brands that move people is exactly what we should want to see in advertisers. Listen to his TEDx talk below, or continue reading for the full interview. There is so much to gain from the insights of this creative thinker:
